The minimum purpose of composting is to decompose germination inhibitors from livestock manure and to eliminate the feeling of filth.
It depends on the equipment, livestock, and season but the minimum conditions is that composting continues to be at high temperature of 60℃ or higher for about 2 weeks or more.
However, to be precise, germination test is required to check how much compost is matured.
After adding to compost, the effect lasts for a few days.
The active temperature is about 50℃ and when it becomes above 60℃, it loses its activity.
As a result of cultivation test with compost using resQ45, there was no negative effect at all.
Our thermophilic bacteria are active from 55℃.
In the medium low temperature (below 50℃) in fields, it can be considered that there is no effect because they are dormant in the spore state.
If blower is not fully and properly equipped, the growth of our thermophilic bacteria will be affected.
We can propose suitable blowers.
It is good to send air in the compost slowly, so we recommend high static pressure and low airflow type.
The best condition is to adjust air volume with inverter to make oxygen concentration inside the compost 10-15% and blow air for 24 hours.
If you do not have inverter and have trouble with over drying, make it an intermittent operation with a pause time of 15-30 minutes. If you pause for more than 30 minutes, the inside of compost will be anaerobic condition.
It can be used either with fermentation tank or lane type if the equipment has blower. Ideally, the primary fermentation should be fermentation tank which raises the temperature, and the secondary fermentation should be lane type for drying and crushing.
The target percentage is 55% for chicken manure and swine manure and 65% for cow manure. When you hold it in your hand, it becomes a lump but water does not drip.
When the water content is low, add water while checking the situation. When it is high, increase the amount of returned compost and finished compost.
Probably because aerobic fermentation starts in the areas where air permeability has been improved by blower airflow, and uneven fermentation (temperature differences) occurs inside the compost. By increasing the stirring frequency as much as possible can reduce uneven fermentation and lumps.
The effect can be felt in about 5 days from introduction. The odors feel sweeter than before.
By adding resQ45 product (New-Tokubetsu-Kyuko), compost becomes high temperature and water evaporation increases, but at the same time, decomposition of organic matter is promoted and amount of water from organic matter increases. For this reason, the effect of increased water evaporation due to temperature rise is offset and drying is not always promoted.
To promote drying, increase the amount of air blowing and number or stirring frequency.
In the farm in cold area the temperature records over 70℃ and achieved smooth composting.
However, too much aeration may reduce temperature of compost, so you need to be careful with the airflow.
